Financial Freedom Update - August 2007

In August, we had $600 of car expenses related to car repairs on the Hyundai, and renewing our registrations on both vehicles. We still managed to move our financial position by $432 in a positive direction.

In September, we'll be rebuilding our $1000 emergency fund which we had to tap into recently for expected expenses (that's what it's there for!). That's priority #1, and after that's done we'll continue to save up for the trip to California in January.

Great news that will help accelerate our plans going forward! I landed a new job making a good deal more money, and it's perfect for my career path. It's right in line with my schooling in project management. I will be the Project Coordinator for SAIC, working on a project for NASA and the US Geological Survey on the LDCM project. We will be launching a new orbiter around 2011 to replace the LANDSAT satellites up in space right now. These are the satellites that take images of the earth. It's a great opportunity both in the short term and long term, so we are really excited!
