Financial Freedom Update - October 2007
We made a lot of progress in October. We're still holding off on major debt payments, but still paid off about $728 of debt. We saved about $1,250 in October! The savings went towards the trip to California in January, Christmas fund savings, and saving for a payment in December for this term of college.
In November, we will receive some extra income from articles I have written (one on saving for retirement was purchased by an online finance publisher). Tamara will also bring in some extra cash through work and cake making!
By the end of January, we should have the last credit card gone. By the end of February, our GMC Jimmy will be paid off. That will mark the end of our consumer debt forever. Starting in March, there are a few small student loans we'll probably get rid of because they are at a small balance and fairly high interest rate. After that, we're going to focus on saving up a big down payment for a house we want to buy in about 2 1/2 years. We're thinking about someplace close to town, but perhaps just a few miles north or east.
